Red Parrot Fish

Red parrot fish do not have a scientific name because they are not really a true species of fish.
Instead, they are artificially produced and thus they are highly debated. This is especially true since only lab technicians really know how they are created.
Many people think that this fish is a combination of the Severum Cichlid and the Red Devil Cichlid, which is interesting because these 2 fish will not breed naturally so even this process is not natural.
This does not stop red parrot fish from spawning on a flat stone, but their eggs rarely hatch and usually they only grow fungus. The eggs that they lay are small, 1mm, eggs. If some of these eggs do hatch, only 50% of them would be parrot fish. You might also think that these parrot fish fry would not have any red in them when they hatch, and that they would instead revert back to their original olive coloration. Red parrot fish will grow to about 6 inches, with the male being somewhat bigger than the female. Their color ranges from deep red to pale pink.
They are relatively peaceful, so they can be trusted around other fish that are of a similar size. The red parrot fish is also not fussy about what they eat and seem to be willing to eat most flake food. However, it is a good idea to give them some live food. For these reasons, many aquarium owners really love these fish and thus tend to make them their tank's centerpiece.
