Jelly Bean Parrot Fish

Jelly bean parrot fish, which are also known as bubble gum fish,
use to be dyed in the same way as sweetheart parrot fish are. However, you can now purchase undyed jellybean parrot fish as well.
These fish are actually a hybrid species with 1 parent that is a blood parrotfish, and 1 parent that is a red devil fish (a hybrid that comes from a Convict Cichlid and a blood parrot fish) are bred together. With this in mind, jelly bean parrot fish are actually a double hybrid fish. Due to the fact that some of this fish's blood comes from a Convict Cichlid, they are tougher then regular parrotfish. This also makes them able to withstand the dyeing process at a younger age, which is why they were originally developed.
Jelly bean parrot fish are kept with their parents for more than 6 months to assure their health. They are also quite adaptable so they are the “perfect” community fish for any aquarium. This makes them great for both breeding and exhibition. It is also great to know that your fish has been bred and raised in natural surroundings because this means that they will be able to eat flake food easily.
Unfortunately, most jelly bean parrot fish have been specifically developed to be dyed. In their natural state these albino fish are still wonderful. While the injection of or dipping in dye makes them look beautiful, but it is very harmful to them. Luckily, more and more jellybean parrot fish are not being dyed today.
